Issue (one of several) on the original design

" visible gaps on the overmold handles " 
They could not be eliminated based on the current mold/tooling design. It would require a major tooling redesign also a new set of molds, which would take extra time and cost. (see the 2nd image on this page)

Solution and design modification

" to fulfill the demanding tight timeline without remake the tooling "  
Remove the problematic overmold area as shown on below image in red, also exposed more ABS areas on appearance, to stabilize the plastic core inside the tooling during high pressure overmolding process. (see the 3rd image on this page)
